Flag of Dominica
Officially Commonwealth of Dominica
What the flag looks like
A green field with a centered cross of three thin stripes in yellow, black and white; at the center a red disc holds a purple and green Sisserou parrot ringed by ten green stars.
What it means
Green stands for the forests, the cross for Christianity, yellow for the soil, black for the people's African heritage and white for clean water; the ten stars are the ten parishes and the Sisserou is the national bird.
How to remember it
Dominica
has a purple Sisserou parrot in a red disc ringed by ten stars on green; the Dominican Republic
