Flag of Bonaire
Locally Boneiru
What the flag looks like
A small yellow triangle in the upper hoist and a large blue triangle in the lower fly, separated by a broad white diagonal band holding a black compass ring with a red six-pointed star inside.
What it means
Yellow is the sun, white the sky and blue the sea; the compass recalls the islanders' seafaring skill, and the six points of the red star stand for Bonaire's six original villages.
How to remember it
Bonaire
is a sailor's compass with a red star in it, steering diagonally between a yellow sun corner and a blue sea.
